I sometimes talk to kids about the writing process and one of the things they are sometimes curious about is where I do my writing. I of course lie and tell them that I work in a secluded cabin in the woods or an impossible-to-get-to monastery at the top of a mountain where I also learn kung-fu. But the truth of the matter is that I work in my house, in a room that was supposed to be a dining area, at a desk that is often covered in potato chip crumbs, at a chair that long ago lost its built in lumbar support, usually in my pajamas. In the interest of full disclosure I have included the following diagram of my work space (click to enlarge). I hope you enjoy.
